Free Jewelry Pricing Calculator

A jewelry pricing calculator turns your material cost, metal wastage, labor, and overhead into a total cost per piece, then applies your markup or target profit margin and selling fees to recommend a wholesale price and a retail price.

Built for independent jewelers, bench makers, and small studios. Results are estimates to guide your pricing, not financial, tax, or appraisal advice. Actual costs, fees, and market prices vary.

Pricing guidance

  • Metal is most of the cost. Re-check this price when gold or silver moves, or quote custom orders with a metal-price validity date.

These are estimates. Taxes, shipping, returns, discounts, and local market expectations are not included; check with an accountant for tax or legal questions.

How the jewelry pricing formula works

  1. 1

    Total your cost

Metal weight × (1 + wastage) × price per gram, plus stones, findings, packaging, labor hours × rate, and overhead %.

  2. 2

    Set wholesale

    Markup: cost × (1 + markup %). Margin: cost ÷ (1 − margin %). A 50% margin equals a 100% markup.

  3. 3

    Set retail

Multiply wholesale by your retail multiplier. Keystone (2×) keeps your online price in line with stockists.

  4. 4

    Cover fees

Retail is grossed up: (retail target + fixed fee) ÷ (1 − fee %), then rounded up so fees never eat your profit.

Jewelry pricing FAQ

Add materials (including metal wastage), labor at an hourly rate, and overhead to get total cost. Multiply cost by your markup, or divide by one minus your target margin, to get wholesale. Retail is commonly about two times wholesale, adjusted upward to cover selling fees.
